I was just watching the news in Romania through ProTv’s news site, stirileprotv.ro and I stumbled across the following video. It contains footage shot by some random guy at a crime scene in Bacau where one guy killed his girlfriend in broad daylight with 42 knife punctures. I don’t want to put emphasis on how sick you can be to think about something or on the cold blood of the random cameraman. I was shocked by both nevertheless but I also couldn’t help notice the voices of the old lady on the background which demonstrates once more that Romania has a lot more to go through before we can be proud with the level of civilization.

The first thing I got pissed off is the fact that she was practically screaming for a blanket to be put over the girl. She wasn’t even declared dead but she wouldn’t care less. She demanded for a blanket to be put over her. Once again, if she had been declared dead, I would have understood her opinion but let’s keep in mind that there is certain data to be collected by the police before anyone would interfere with the body.

The second thing that pissed me off in an extreme manner is her constant yelling for a candle to be lit in the vicinity of the girl. FFS! Does it really matter? Do we have to be this childish and trust the divinity with all our heart instead of asking if we can offer some help in any way? Why is it that when we are in moments of pain, someone else always tries to show off with their huge gr attitude instead of staying low and giving aid?

I don’t want to give the false impression that I would put the equal sign between religion and lack of civilization but people have to understand that there are some issues religion couldn’t, can’t and will never be able to fix. And we also have to understand what George Carlin has already stated in another manner: the church shouldn’t be the place where people go and compare clothing.
