I feel like I have to share some explanations for my recent lack of activity. It’s not like I wanted to ignore this blog but sometimes you just feel like the world is collapsing on your shoulders, crushing you in a very painful way.

So, although I am slightly nervous about the exam we are going to have tomorrow, I am pretty confident that it’s going to be alright What really fucked me up over the past days was a huge toothache. I knew how high the prices of the dentist in Denmark are but I just had to go there to relief the pain. I went to “Frost&Holtet” dentist clinic downtown since it was recommended by my best friend and it was very nice. Meh, I mean, as nice as a dentist can be. I really hated that they overused the injections and at some point I had to tell them that I am used with the stone-age-treatment: full pain. Once again, the price was pretty high but you guys know how toothaches are!

Alright, so I am 1 day away from the final year exam and 9 days away from coming back home (8 days judging by the fact that I will leave from my place on the evening of the 1st of july). Today is the longest day in the year and although I would love to go to the beach to see the bonfires, I would rather study a little bit more for the exam tomorrow. Meh, Denmark changed me.. Me, studying!

And since I am a God when it comes to bragging: a website I have designed 3 years ago has a google pr of 6 now

felt like you are going on a descending path from all points of view and then someone/something snaps you from that track and puts you on one which is full of light?

imagined how something would be like and know for sure that it’s going to be even better?

looked at the person sitting right next to you whom you often ignore and tried to look underneath the stealth cloak which seems to surround him/her?

craved for a first chance but never bothered to give a second chance to someone else?

realized how ignoring someone can be painless but being ignored can be painful?

thought that you have found exactly what you have always been looking for but you were too scared to admit it?

ignored all the principles in your scrapbook and just went with the flow?

lied about going to bed so someone who needs to go to bed could actually go to bed?

known that happiness can be just around the corner?

+ All the best to Vlad and Lory! Have a great life together guys, I am sorry I couldn’t be there for the wedding but I was happy to see a lot of pictures and a video!

I just want all of you to realize how lucky you are for being normal, healthy and having no problem whatsoever. Warning, the following article may contain some disturbing images of the diseases. Continue reading it only if you are sure about it. Read More!

Treacher Collins syndrome

- characterised by craniofacial deformities
- 1/10.000 births
- typical physical features include downward slanting eyes, micrognathia (a small lower jaw), conductive hearing loss, underdeveloped zygoma, drooping part of the lateral lower eyelids, and malformed or absent ears.

For more information on the Treacher Collins syndrome

Maybe the most known case so far is the one of Juliana Wetmore, presented below.

Goldenhar Syndrome

- characterised by incomplete development of the ear, nose, soft palate, lip, and mandible.
- 1/26.000 births
- typical physical features include incomplete development of the ear, nose, soft palate, lip, and mandible on usually one side of the body. Additionally, more than 99% of patients will have growing issues with internal organs, especially heart, kidneys, and lungs. Typically, the organ will either not be present on one side or will be underdeveloped.

Harlequin type ichthyosis

- skin disease
- the most severe form of congenital ichthyosis, characterized by a thickening of the keratin layer in fetal human skin
- in sufferers of the disease, the skin contains massive, diamond-shaped scales, and tends to have a reddish color. In addition, the eyes, ears, mouth, and other appendages may be abnormally contracted. The scaly keratin greatly limits the child’s movement. Because the skin is cracked where normal skin would fold, it is easily pregnable by bacteria and other contaminants, resulting in serious risk of fatal infection.
- The features of sufferers are deformed facially and cranially. The ears may be very poorly developed or absent entirely, as may the nose. The eyelids are severely everted (ectropion), which leaves the eyes and the area around them very susceptible to trauma.
- They are extremely susceptible to changes in temperature due to their armor-like skin, which prevents normal heat loss. This can result in hyperthermia. Their respiration is also restricted by the skin, which impedes the chest wall from expanding and drawing in enough air. This can lead to hypoventilation and respiratory failure. Harlequins are often dehydrated, as their plated skin is not well suited to keeping water in.

An incredible struggle for survival can be seen in the following video…

Once again, I have presented these diseases/genetical disorders just to make some of you realise about how lucky you are for being yourselves.
