Halloween party at the Student House in Aarhus

Well, it was nice. I didn’t have as much fun as I could have had due to some pretty odd circumstances, but I had the exact amount of fun that is supposed to keep me on the balance line between collapsing of sadness and yelling of happiness.

It could have been a lot better and it could have been much worse. I am not happy with the outcome and I am not sad with it either. I wouldn’t have minded if more stuff had happened nor would I have gotten mad if less stuff happened. It was a perfect balance between each and every possible state of mind. It was just like each and every party I was at in Denmark with the exception of a certain Old Romanian Music Party that we held sometime in June this year which was absolutely amazing.

It was just like my entire stay in Denmark so far: plain and full of nothingness and possibilities with no outcome what-so-ever.

Oh no, wait, I am lying. I did ride the bus back home with a guy dressed as Pikachu. Nothing beats that. Now, let’s play a good song, shall we?

Work Work Work

It might be the first time I actually associate WWW with anything but the World Wide Web and honestly, I can’t find any other thing I could associate it too. I have always said that I would love to work in the Metal industry but working in a Steel Coating work place wasn’t quite what I meant by “metal”, you know.

The work isn’t hard but tomorrow might be my last day there since the school is just around the weekend. Ha, that sounds funny. Riiiiiiiiight.

Have I ever told you about that time when I was..

Nah, sorry, my mind is blank and there is absolutely nothing else I can tell you guys/gals other that I have to wake up at 5 o’clock tomorrow morning in order to go to work and gain the last third of the money I need for the plane ticket. The plane ticket will be from Copenhagen to Bucharest sometime this autumn (most likely sometimes in October since I don’t want a Sweet November or a Sometimes in April). I’ve got some urgent matters which I left hanging around among which I can count the cavities which need urgent fix otherwise I will find my self in the unpleasant circumstance of paying a humangous amount of money to the Danish dentist.

On the other hand, I find myself in a huge dillema which is going to get even bigger once the school year starts, that’s for sure.

I’m way too tired after a 8 hour train ride from Sibiu to Bucharest (via Medias due to the floods which occured on the railroad between Sibiu and Brasov) so I’m just going to post some pics over here which reflect these wonderful 4 days that we have spent in Sibiu with the occasion of the superb performances by Tristania, My Dying Bride, Opeth, PAIN (!!) and Nightwish. Since my camera is pretty sucky (a 4 megapixels HP with no optical zoom), the photos are as good as they can be. Hope you’ll enjoy it and be a little patient for a review tomorrow

Sibiu

I’ll be leaving to Sibiu around noon tomorrow and I’ll be back on Sunday. I’ve got my laptop with me and there’s going to be a wireless internet connection at the place we’ll be staying. If nothing comes up, I’ll be posting reviews of the Artmania Festival as fast as possible

Lunar Gate – Latitude

I accidentally stumbled upon this song as I was listening to the Mourning Beloveth discography. It seems like “Lunar Gate” had something like a guest appearence on one of Mourning’s albums. The song itself is awesome, a combination between doom metal and jazz and it’s worth listening to it, despite the poor quality (it is not youtube’s fault, it’s the way I have the song in .mp3 format). I could find much information about Lunar Gate except their Metal-Archives profile page but I would be more than happy to hear more songs from them! Listen to it, trust me, it’s worth it.

Hatesphere Concert in Voxhall

I went last night to a metal concert in Voxhall in Aarhus. I really didn’t know what to expect since I had previously heard only one band of the four bands that played. The gig started with the Feroese guys from SiC. Their first song was very good (just imagine a Sepultura song with a length of 9 minutes). I even ignored the fact that their drummer was a little bit nervous and dropped one of his sticks during the performance. They even made a cover of Roots, Bloody Roots which was the peak of their performance but their songs also sound good nevertheless.

The second band to go on stage were the austrian guys from Artas. They were the band I had previously listened to as they got my attention on youtube with a cover of Coolio’s Gangstas Paradise. Yes, they played that song live and it was awesome Among their other songs I liked, I can count Barbossa and Bastardo. When they introduced the song Bastardo, they first said something like “This is a song with a title in Spanish” and I was like “OMG OMG OMG, they’re going to do a cover of Brujerismo???” but they didn’t

The 3rd band was from Belgium and their name is The Dying. It is pretty hard to google them or to find anything about them. They sound awesome but there was one small incident. One guy in the public leaned his hand to the front singer and he then pulled him from the stage. The lead singer fell in the crowd but he managed to continue singing although he was lying on the floor. Their songs were nice but I forgot their names However, I do remember that they did a cover of Pantera’s Domination. Yes, they even played the guitar solo perfectly.

The headliner of the gig was the Danish band of Hatesphere. It was only yesterday that I found out that they originate from Aarhus. The public went crazy but we were already too tired to headbang and stuff They sound ok although I had the feeling that all their songs sound the same. There was a lot of headbanging on the stage though and a lot of stagediving as well.

All in all, it was a great concert which got me back in the mood of listening to some more brutal metal than what I have listened in the past few weeks. I would just like to thank my classmate, Fannar, for the beer (damn man, that was expensive! ) and my current and ex-neighbours whom I shared this concert with.
